We seek to create ever more flexible and powerful views of the activity of strangers - by which we mean the writing or authoring activities of people in the federation who we write with (but may not know).
Strangers are more strange than stranger. They provide us with new and different perspectives on our work. We may indeed to get to know them very well indeed through their writing, and long term acquaintance. But there was a time we did not know them, and the question arises: > How do I meet and begin to write with strangers?
# Activity views One simple answer is that we provide views of their activity. We make it easy for you to view their thoughts, and writing, and if it grabs your attention it is only one click away to fork them and make them your own.
These views are very recent in the federation. While we have had software that you could use to find material, the process was very involved and suitable really only for those of us with a (software) engineering mindset. We could see these views, but were unable to show them to the uninitiated.
> Note: the first view of the activity of strangers that in my opinion we have created is Todays Activity. It is not quite good enough (it may take two clicks to reload before the view appears successfully), but it is immediate, useful, and clear.
# Future views
The real future of this work is yet to be realised. We hope that the work we undertake with regard to the Obeya Room, and the involvement of artists, and a community motivated by design or the future of storytelling will help use realise these ideas in the coming year.
Graphing and data visualisation is an initial focus. Working with video, and sound based in wiki, but used in the support of real space and live streamed online interaction is another. Finally our aim is to integrate these designs into a readily available augmented or mixed reality application that is designed for wiki.
